Final ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald’ Trailer

They certainly did not save the best for last.

Typically with big franchise and blockbusters, they slowly but surely pump out new and exciting trailers every few months in anticipation of the actual release date. The newest Fantastic Beasts is a prime example of that method. The first two trailers have hit and today they released the final one, marking that this is soon to be released in theatres. I gotta say, I was impressed by it at all.

Not that I haven’t been impressed with what has come before it, because I thought the previous trailer was really well done and it got me excited for the film. I even blogged about it. The only problem was the Johnny Depp situation and I gotta say, he wasn’t the issue with this one. The problem I had here was this trailer just felt all over the place and I still don’t even know what the hell this movie is about. Yes Newt has to hunt down Grindelwald, but that can’t it, can it? Even the title of the movie is a mouth full, typing it out is even a chore. Of course I’m going to see it, but I now have some reservations on the outcome of this flick. People tend to judge movies a lot by the trailers they see before hand, that’s how we are as a society. I’m no different.

I’ve been rereading all the Harry Potters and just finished all the movies for god knows how many time. So I am excited to be thrusted back into this world of magic and muggles. I just wish they did a better job with this final trailer.

New ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Sequel Trailer

Johnny Depp legit just ruins everything now.

I remember going into the first Fantastic Beasts and being pleasantly surprised. Going back to the world of magic and muggles and all things in-between was incredible. Then towards the end of the movie Colin Farrell’s character morphed into Johnny Depp and well, my jaw hit the floor. Not because I was shocked, not because I was happy, because it flat out ruined the movie. Yeah 90’s Depp was awesome, but now, he’s just Johnny Depp. He’s no longer an actor. Okay, it didn’t ruin the movie completely but I can’t believe they did Colin dirty like that, he was fine in this role and I think he was better suited for the role.

So now we have the upcoming sequel which predominantly features Depp and all I see is Johnny. It’s hard to see him as anything else these days, and I don’t know how I can possibly sit through this movie. It appears to be darker in tone and have way more magic, both great things. Jude Law is playing a younger Dumbledore which seems all too perfect. I can’t wait to go back to this world again, it’s just a shame we have to put up with Johnny Depp in the mean time.

The trailer is pretty fantastic, no pun intended. These new characters especially Newt are a nice additional to an already packed universe. It makes me want venture back to this world again and again. Check it out and see for yourself!

‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Trailer.

Johnny Depp is here to fully ruin this movie for everyone.

Seriously though. Who’s bright idea was it to cast this guy? Throughout my entire life I’ve had the privilege of watching Johnny Depp act, and he’s a fine actor, but as of late….Well he’s just now Johnny Depp. That’s all I ever see, not the character he is portraying, but rather I just see him as himself.

So why on Earth anyone thought it was a good idea to thrust him into the world of muggles and magic is beyond me. On top of that he’s playing the bad guy. The first Fantastic Beasts was fine, everyone loves being transported back into this world and seeing familiar things and hearing that iconic score that is all too familiar. I even didn’t mind that it takes place in the past and we get a better understanding of the world that Harry Potter lives in.

A movie based in the world of Hogwarts and Wizards without Harry Potter was an adjustment to say the least, but the new additions to the characters was met with reasonable expectations, and everyone seemed to enjoy the first film. If they hadn’t we wouldn’t be getting a sequel. We are now seeing Jude Law added into the mix as young Albus Dumbledore, which for me is going to be extremely strange to see. I can only picture a wise old man, not this young guy, who seems nothing like the person we grew to know through 7 books and 8 movies. I do like Jude Law, so this could very well work, but I won’t know until I see more.

Overall the trailer looks great, visually it’s right on par with the original and I love the beasts aspect of these films. The creatures are a nice additions to this magical world. But someone please explain to me why we have to have Johnny Depp.

Check ya later.
