New ‘Tenet’ Trailer Drops

Christopher Nolan is doing everything in his power to make sure his newest movie, Tenet, gets that July release date. After seeing this trailer, I don’t blame him. Who’s got a hazmat suit I can borrow?

Anyone else a little lost? If you’re not, then you are a certified genius because this trailer is the definition of a mind freak. It’s not time travel, it’s time inversion, whatever the hell that means. It appears from the trailer that certain characters are going to be able to manipulate time with ordinary objects.

Does it even matter? We get to watch Robert Pattison, notice the cutaway after the “Dark Knight Trilogy” was on our boy! Alongside him, John David Washington, they have fantastic chemistry in this trailer, are playing secret agents of sorts, and Washington is the one capable of time manipulation among the pair. Time moves one way, while people move in the other, a neat concept at its core and even more satisfying to watch unfold. The bigger picture is hush at the moment, Nolan doesn’t like to give too much away in his trailers and you can expect some serious head turns along the way.

Nolan is the master of taking some sort of concept and shaping it into a spectacle on the big screen. Whether it was inside the mind with Inception, or conquering space in Interstellar. Now he is tackling time, Christ at this point he is just collecting the infinity stones himself. This looks to be one of the most original movies we have seen in a long time, and tonight Washington himself said that this film with dictate the next 10-15 years of the cinema landscape. Which happened not too long ago, when Nolan changed the game with The Dark Knight. Nolan is a craftsman and loves to explore boundaries that not too many film-makers are willing to explore and it usually makes for a fantastic product.

Now the big question is, when will this be released. Set to hit theatres on July 17th, but with COVID and safety measures in place, that isn’t set in stone. Regardless, this will surely be a box-office success and if it is the first big new release when we are able to go back to the movies, this could rule the box-office for months. Everything else has been pushed back drastically and WB and Nolan could take full advantage of that.
