The future of the MCU is here, and it brings a slew of new heroes, which will ultimately become the focal point of this entire universe.
To say that the MCU has been lackluster lately might be an undersell. Sure, Deadpool and Wolverine made a billion dollars at the box office, but for me at least, it didn’t quite move the needle. This should be the new foundation for the MCU and the building blocks for what’s to come. I feel like since Endgame ended, the MCU has had no identity and this could be the start of what we can really expect going forward.
Okay, so I am digging the retro futuristic vibes from this trailer, the music is top-notch, and this is a fantastic cast, but I just can’t go in all on an MCU project. All four leads are so perfect it’s almost hurting my brain, especially Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. I don’t know if that was a call back to The Bear, but you simply can’t keep Cousin Richie out of the kitchen. The aesthetics are fun and it does feel fresh from recent MCU movies, but its hard investing into something that has seemingly been burning us for years now.
Two things I noticed, one they showcased everyone’s powers except for Mr. Fantastic, so maybe he doesn’t get them right away and the movie is him trying to reverse the damage done to his friends. Secondly, Galactus looks badass, and I’m excited to see him in live action.
The Robert Downey Jr, Doctor Doom stinger at the end of this movie is going to slap so hard. So no matter what, we have that to look forward to.
