New ‘Hellboy’ Trailer

The reboot of Hellboy looks like some good old devilish fun.

There are so many movies coming out in 2019, I honestly completely forgot that the new Hellboy was one of them. I don’t want to take anything away from it, but in a year with a Joker movie, Endgame and the new Spider-Man, it’s really hard to keep track of all the superhero flicks coming out. Now, after saying that, and having this trailer reminding me that we are in fact getting a Hellboy reboot, what can I say, I’m kind of excited.

It has some massive shoes to fill, the previous Hellboy movies were not box-office juggernauts, but they had Guillermo Del Toro’s flawless visuals and a charming lead in Ron Perlman. Two things that will he hard to follow up, but man David Harbour looks just as comfortable in this role as his counterpart did. One thing the previous instalments didn’t have was a rated R version. It seems so perfect having Hellboy rated R, and we even get a little taste of that in this trailer. They just seem to go hand-in-hand pretty seamlessly and I was digging this thing. Way better than the first trailer, and when the lead of your movie works to pretty much perfection, well it goes a long way for your film. It also always helps to have Ian McShane attached to your film, that man is so damn fun to watch.

This could also turn out to be just a complete mess and a CGI slug-fest, but I actually think we will have a very entertaining movie on our hands. The future lies in the box-office, I just think Hellboy is an awesome and fun character and I enjoy watching him beat things up. Pretty simple.

First ‘Hellboy’ Trailer Drops

Ohhhhh boy…..

Imagine trying to follow Guillermo Del Toro. Those are some truly hard shoes to fill, arguably one of the most visually gifted director working today, no wonder a lot of people disliked this trailer. Look, to begin with, people just wanted Ron Perlman to return and make a Hellboy 3, but the studio was thinking differently and wanted to take this franchise in a whole new direction. A shift tonally and having a new star could shake things up enough to peak the interest of the fans. In steps David Harbour, the star of Stranger Things. I will say this, he wasn’t the worst part about this trailer.

I mentioned the shift in tone, but honestly I couldn’t tell what kind of tone they are going for here. It seems more bloody and violent then it’s predecessors, while at the same time being light hearted and fun. They even played Billy Idol throughout the trailer. So right off the bat, fans seem confused on what to expect from the new Hellboy. I think it has a great cast, Ian McShane is a fan favourite and is always churning out wicked performances and the same can be said for Milla Jovovich, who appears to be playing the villain of the movie.

I don’t like writing off movies completely after seeing a trailer, especially the first. But this just overall came across as a utter mess. Neil Marshall who is the new director has a lot to live up too. I just wanted maybe a little more, and even some of the visual effects and certainly the way Hellboy looks really through me for a loop. But, what do I know right?

‘Stranger Things Season 2’ Final Trailer

Your girlfriends back and there’s going to be trouble.

(NETFLIX)

Seriously, has there ever been a more anticipated second season of a television show? I can’t really think of one, and it’s warranted. No show really breaks through in its first season and has the success and the loyal fans that comes with Stranger Things. I’ve never really seen a show have the word of mouth, and honest to god success that came with the first season of this show.

I keep forgetting this is coming out in only a matter of weeks, and by the end of 2017, this will without a doubt be the best thing released, television and film wise. Netflix might crash for the first time history because I think everyone and their dog will be calling in sick to binge watch this. It looks damn near perfect, and I just need this in my life already.

The trailer is fantastic in a way where they don’t give too much away, I’m digging Elevans new dew, she’s got a really Curly Sue kind of vibe going on, and she seems pissed off about something. It just looks beautiful, they obviously got a bigger budget for this season and it shows throughout the trailer with some really impressive visuals. They still don’t really give a lot away in terms of plot, I’m praying that big monster thing is actually real and not just in Will’s head. Because that will just be a really big tease and will piss me off. The cast is just so perfect and it’s only 15 more days until we can all hook this into our veins. Until then, I might have to revisit the first season, because well why not.

Check ya later.
